It's been a day. I've been selling art or trying to for almost two years. I've had varying amounts of success, mostly not much of anything with a win here and there. In recent months when my site was on Wordpress, my blog got more traction than my actual art.

So I spent a good part of the morning trying to downgrade my Bluehost plan to a cheaper plan but they pretty much gave me the run around in every way possible.

So I went to switch to Dreamhost which was way way cheaper. BUT, and there is always a but, nothing under the hood was working. The site LOOKED ok, but new blogs wouldn't post, images were broken and I couldn't list new products. So I spent another part of the day with their tech support, who was also unhelpful, only to have to leave it all for a family member having a medical situation.

So tonight, I moved back to Ghost, but Bluehost wasn't done. It wouldn't let me point my .com domain toward here. So I got a new shiny .RIP domain which is actually pretty cool.

So I forwarded my .com one to this one, migrated my blog and I'm off and running here. My focus going forward will be promoting this blog. It will be free at least for a good while. I'm just spent on selling art. Algorithms do not favor creators so posting art on social media gets little traction.

I know a few people who are pretty successful with art. But I've not had such luck no matter how much and how hard I grind and post new art. It gets draining and not good for my mental health. I'm not going to guess reasons why people aren't buying art. We could probably make a whole list as to why people who say they love my art won't buy it.

That's neither here nor there, fact is I need to step away. I'm still going to be creating art, but I'll be posting it on this blog with stories and meanings behind it. It just won't be for sale, unless of course someone really really wants something.

My evening with my family member was a whole different load of chaos I won't get into. Just will say that America's healthcare is a nightmare to navigate and medical clinics even won't be handicap accessible.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'm happy to be back on Ghost. I don't like substack I've blogged about that before. So I'm here for the time being. I would really like to make up my mind and keep my website in one place and continue in one direction for a good length of time. I'm aware keeping moving things isn't a good way to gain traction.

Hopefully I'm here to stay. I like this platform quite a bit and I love art but people seem to like my blogs better. And let's face it, I'd rather blog than do a podcast.

If you like my blogs, feel free to subscribe to my email list. I'm trying to build a following here, and its free to sign up. Then you get my new blogs right in your inbox. I appreciate everyone who has stuck with me through all these adventures and all my craziness. Its about to get weird, so hang on.
